Meet Figgy Francis at just one year old she's been through it all. At just a few weeks old she had a rectal prolapse - we aren't sure the reason. Could be genetic since Frenchies are not being bred for health, in fact the opposite. Could be a mix factor of parasites. It's unclear. They did a purse string suture that didn't hold. The lady who purchased her then took her to her vet and at this point she had unhealthy tissue and needed a resection. This was all back in February. Those scars have healed but it seems she's still straining and leaking. As a result, the owner kept her in an outdoor kennel, albeit with a heater. But when we picked her up she was covered in dried poop and very scared. We scooped her right up got her home, cleaned her up, and it seems she wasn't feeling her best. Even with a heater the temps dropped to the 20s. We called the vet to see her and thankfully they said bring her in. She's on antibiotics for a slight upper respiratory infection. She's also got some muscle atrophy and a hunched spine. With meds on board to get her feeling better. We're going to do what we always do. Try to heal from the Gut! She's started a gently cooked diet, and CBD. We will then start FMT treatment. Where hopefully we can get her gut good strains of bacteria. She's a doll and has been handed a crap deck of cards. But she slept warm and clean last night. Yesterday's bill was 400.00 that includes her fecal and bloodwork. She'll have a follow up in 3 weeks. Please help our little Figs if you can. If you’d like to help us with Figgy’s fresh start and medical expenses, we would be so grateful. It allows us to take in others that need us.
