Our History

Bullies 2 The Rescue began in 2011 in the most humble—and determined—way possible: a one-car garage transformed into a makeshift dog room, complete with a groomer’s tub and a whole lot of heart. From those early days, our mission grew steadily, and so did the number of bulldogs who found safety through our doors.

Before long, Bullies 2 The Rescue became one of the most active bulldog rescues in the country. Between 2017 and 2019, we reached our highest-volume years, rescuing up to 398 dogs in a single year.

Like many rescues nationwide, the challenges brought on by COVID-19, a changing economy, and reduced funding caused our numbers to decline after 2019. But while the world shifted, our commitment to bulldogs never did.

Today, Bullies 2 The Rescue operates on six acres at Meat and Tater’s Wiggle Ranch, with the ability to safely house up to 20 dogs at a time—an extraordinary evolution from that original garage. In addition, we maintain 50–70 dogs in foster homes at any given time, ensuring every bulldog receives the individualized care they need.

Since our founding, we have saved thousands of English, French, and Exotic Bulldogs, many of whom came to us sick, injured, or neglected—and all of whom left with a chance at a better life.

Looking ahead to 2026, our founder, Courtney, has set a bold goal: to rescue 400 bulldogs in a single year, returning Bullies 2 The Rescue to its strongest years and proving once again that with community support, determination, and a whole lot of bulldog spirit, we can continue to grow—and save more lives than ever before.
